Consumers are being urged to check their kitchen shelves after the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) and National Security flagged safety concerns with certain Tasty Tom Enriched Tomato Mix products.
The alert follows reports of bloating in some cans and pouches, prompting an immediate recall of specific batches to investigate the cause and ensure public safety.
"Our attention has been drawn by the FDA and National Security to some incidents of bloating in Tasty Tom Enriched Tomato Mix pouches and Cans (210g and 400g). We have therefore been directed by the regulator to issue this recall, whilst we investigate the root cause of the problem. The following products are hereby being recalled with immediate effect:"
• All batches of the Tasty Tom Enriched Tomato Mix in 210g and 400g Cans.
• Tasty Tom Enriched Tomato Mix in 380g and 1.05kg with the following batch numbers
Producers of the products have started to recall them from shelves after a safety warning.
