Ghana's Defence Minister, Dr. Edward Omane-Boamah, has strongly criticised the previous government and the New Patriotic Party for what he describes as insensitivity to the Ghanaian people.
According to the Director of Elections for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the NPP is solely focused on regaining political power rather than addressing the dire needs of the entire citizenry.
Posting on his official Facebook Page on Wednesday, June 18th, 2025, shortly after the NPP issued a date for the election of their flagbearer at the just-ended National Executive Council meeting on Tuesday, June 17th, 2025, Dr Boamah maintains that the NPP is not remorseful for causing heinous crimes to the Ghanaian people, especially bondholders.
Dr. Omane-Boamah said, “The Competent Economic Management Team did enough damage to pensioners, people with disabilities, women, the youth, and Ghanaians in general.”
“In six short months, instead of apologising sincerely for their misdeeds, they're focusing on the next elections.”
Dr Boamah further asserted that the NPP’s posture reflects a broader pattern of neglect and self-interest.
“NPP thinks only about themselves and the next elections,” he said, suggesting that the party’s priority has always been political survival over national progress.
