In a soul-stirring Eid al-Adha message to Ghana’s Muslim population, H.E. Alhaji Said Sinare, the National Chairman of the Zongo Caucus Working Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has passionately called on Muslims across the country and the diaspora to rally behind President John Dramani Mahama’s transformative 24-Hour Economy policy — describing it as the dawn of a new era where “the night will no longer sleep with poverty.”
Delivering his heartfelt greetings and prayers to the Muslim Ummah, Alhaji Sinare declared this year’s Eid as not just a time of sacrifice and reflection, but also a moment of renewed political and economic hope. He saluted President Mahama for what he described as “a historic act of compassion” — the drastic reduction in Hajj fares — which he said has restored dignity to Ghanaian Muslims who were previously denied access to the pilgrimage under the extortionate policies of the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia regime.
“President Mahama has not only heard the cries of the Muslim community—he has acted with the compassion of a leader who sees beyond votes and values real human need,” Sinare stated. “Unlike Dr. Bawumia, who rode on the backs of Muslim identity and abandoned it at the altar of political convenience, Mahama is investing in our people, our values, and our future.”
In a stinging rebuke of the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, Alhaji Sinare lamented what he called “the betrayal and hypocrisy” of leaders who used Islamic slogans for campaign gains but failed to uplift Zongo communities in return. “They built monuments while our communities begged for water. They shouted ‘Insha Allah’ at rallies but denied our youth the jobs and dignity they deserved,” he fumed.
Highlighting the NDC’s 24-Hour Economy as a practical salvation plan for the youth and struggling entrepreneurs in Zongos, Sinare called on Muslims to embrace the policy with urgency and faith. “From Madina to Moshie Zongo, from Ashaiman to Asawase—the night will no longer sleep with poverty. The night will work and feed our dreams. That is the Mahama vision,” he proclaimed.
He emphasized that under President Mahama’s leadership, the Zongo Caucus is witnessing renewed investments in infrastructure, Islamic education, job creation, and true inclusion — a stark contrast to the NPP’s years of neglect and exploitation.
Alhaji Sinare concluded his message with a rallying call: “Let us not just slaughter rams, let us slaughter the deceit of the past. Let us not just share love, let us share in the responsibility of guarding our future. Ghana needs a leader who reflects our values, our faith, and our aspirations. That leader is John Dramani Mahama.”
He wished all Muslims a blessed Eid, praying for unity, peace, justice, and divine favor for the entire nation.
