Nana Aba Anamoah has defended Sammy Gyamfi, NDC’s National Communications Officer, against criticism for a viral video showing him handing dollar bills to Agradaa.
She questioned the public’s reaction, suggesting Gyamfi’s actions were not unusual, and criticized the level of political discourse.
"I thought it was all social media banter until I heard the conversation on the radio. Honestly, you lot need to raise the level of political discourse," she said.
Meanwhile, the development has sparked massive discussion on social media, drawing backlash from netizens, including some high-ranking officials from the opposition parties and even within the NDC.
Many have argued that Sammy Gyamfi’s actions violate President John Mahama’s code of conduct for public officials, which forms part of a broader anti-corruption agenda.
In response, Sammy Gyamfi has issued a public apology and has reportedly been summoned by Chief of Staff Julius Debrah.
