Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as NAPO, stated he does not intend to contest the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearership for the 2028 elections.
He is focused on helping build a united party and supporting the party’s campaign.
“Me, personally? No, I’m not running 2028,” was his response when the Citi FM reporter asked him the question at the Alisa Hotel on Wednesday, where the NPP was holding a national council meeting.
The NPP is contemplating who to lead the party in the next election.
However, many believe the party's immediate flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, is the best choice to lead, having been marketed to the Ghanaian electorate across the country.
