US Ambassador Virginia Palmer met with Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa to discuss the 10% US tariff on Ghanaian exports.
Despite the tariff, Ambassador Palmer expressed optimism about the strength of US-Ghana relations and the potential for mutual benefits.
Speaking to the media afterwards, Ambassador Palmer expressed optimism about the state of bilateral ties.
“I had a great conversation with the minister of foreign affairs, and we talked about how the relationship with Ghana is very strong, and how we can keep it going that way. The sort of detail of what the tariffs are and some things the United States and Ghana can do to improve the relationship,” she stated.
