Ghana's all-time leading goalscorer, Asamoah Gyan, has urged the Black Stars to focus on securing six points against Chad and Madagascar in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Ghana, who now sit 3rd in Group I with nine points after four games will host Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium tonight flying to play Madagascar in Morocco on Monday, March 24 at the Al Hoceima Grand Stadium.
Despite recording two wins in 10 games in 2024, Gyan, who played at the 2006, 2010 and 2014 World Cups in Germany, South Africa and Brazil respectively has charged the players to focus on the six points in the upcoming games.
"Black Stars must focus on the six points against Chad and Madagascar that is all that we want," he told Asempa FM
"We want to see them play good football but the three points should be the most important thing," he added.
Gyan further urged the playing body to relate to the fans and go for all the needed points.
"The players are in to prove a point because we all know what they can do for us. I was telling them to relate to the fans and just do what they want."
After failing to secure qualification for the 2025 AFCON for the first time in two decades, the Black Stars will be hoping to change the narrative.
