The Ghana Water Limited (GWL), Accra West Region, has announced the temporary shutdown of the Weija Water Treatment Plant for emergency repair works.
In an official statement released this morning, GWL disclosed that the plant was taken offline to address urgent issues with major pipelines that supply water to the western parts of Accra.
As a result, residents in affected areas will experience a disruption in water supply from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. today.
“The shutdown is necessary to carry out critical repair works and prevent further damage to our distribution infrastructure,” the statement read. GWL has assured the public that engineers are working swiftly to restore normal water flow within the stipulated time.
Customers are advised to store sufficient water and use it judiciously during the period of interruption.
Ghana Water Ltd. has expressed regret for the inconvenience and promised to update the public on any developments.
