According to a report by Citinewsroom, the former Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, was picked up by men from the National Security at his residence in Kumasi on Sunday.
He was later sent to the Ashanti Regional Police Command for further interrogation, where he remains in custody.
Mr Jumah is believed to have in possession some state vehicles that the government wants to retrieve.
His arrest is also related to some alleged corruption during his leadership at GIHOC.
